Delivering oil cargo from bunker tanks

Background

Vessels may deliver oil products from bunker tanks, hence the content in the tanks is considered both bunker fuel and oil cargo at the same time. This raises questions about record keeping since bunker is recorded in Oil RB I, whereas oil cargo is recorded in Oil RB II.

According to best practice, bunkering/loading to bunker tanks should be recorded as "H" entries in Oil RB I, whereas when delivering oil cargo this should be recorde as "C - Unloading of oil cargo" in Oil RB II. Handling this in Telscope, is straight forward. However, the functionality has to be explicitly enabled for the bunker tanks to be available in Oil RB II.

Enabling

To enable this feature

  1. Go to "Settings" in the main menu.
  2. Select the "Ship" section.
  3. Check the "Cargo delivery from bunkers tanks" checkbox.
  4. Press "Save settings"

Loading / bunkering

Loading is done as usual as an "H" entry in Oil RB I.

Discharge / delivery of oil cargo from bunker tanks

When delivering oil products carried in bunker tanks, this is recorded in Oil RB II. Go to "MARPOL" -> "Oil RB II" and choose "C - Unloading of oil cargo". The bunker tanks will now be visible.
