Collecting data from ECDIS systems

ECDIS systems are connected to at least GPS and gyro and typically also to other sensors like the speed log and wind sensor. Most ECDIS systems are capable of sending this data through a serial port or over a TCP/IP connection, but this may require configuration of the system. TECDIS Furuno FMD Can be configured to pass navigation data to a serial port or over network in IEC61162-450 format. The following data fields are known to work: - Position, course over ground, spee...

Introduction

The installation of TelScope consists of the following steps - Preparation on shore (https://Telko.liveagent.se/495278-Shore-Preparation) Sets up the communication channel between the on board server(s) and the data center on shore. For a dual installation the communication channel between the on board is also prepared in this step. This requires general internet access and we highly recommend that this is done before installing the computers on board the vessel. - Physical installatio...

Shore Preparation

The server initialization takes places in the config tool, so a display, keyboard and mouse must be connected to the computer. For details about how to access the config tool, see Accesing the config tool (https://Telko.liveagent.se/495278-Shore-Preparation#accessing-the-config-tool).
