About the network capabilities of TECDIS units

All TECDIS units are delivered with at least 2 ethernet interfaces.

By standard they are configured as the following:

1.One interface is identified as Internet

•It is set up with dynamic IP.

•This is limited by an IP filter to only allow connections with a few IP-addresses.

•The crew must be able to disa ble any connections from this interface (usually done by removing power from the switch it is connected to). This is a mandatory requirement for all TECDISes.

•This interface may not be labelled inside Windows, if that is the case you can identify it by the dynamic IP address. If multiple interfaces with dynamic IP address is available, you can choose whatever you want.

2. One interface is identified as Furuno

•This is set up with a fixed IP address, in the 172.31.*.* range

•It is used for transferring data between all TECDIS and Furuno units

•This interface may not be labelled inside Windows, if that is the case you can identify it by the fixed IP address.
